Croydon School of Gymnastics was established in 1967 and we celebrated our 50th Anniversary in September 2017. The club has a membership of approx. 400 ranging from 12 months to 60 years young! We run a comprehensive programme with classes that cater for all ages and levels of ability from recreational to competitive gymnastics.
Gymnastics is an excellent preparation for many sports and can provide a structured opportunity for children to develop skills such as strength, suppleness, balance and co-ordination and it encourages concentration, discipline and general fitness. We believe it can set a child up physically for life, it can be hard work, but it is also terrific fun.
There is a great team spirit within the club, and we find all members whether beginner or advanced gain enormously in confidence as well as fitness. Whilst every member will have the opportunity to make it to the top the majority stay within the recreational programme, where they are encouraged to develop their strength, co-ordination and balance, whilst working towards various gymnastics awards.
These members are the backbone of the club and we are as proud of their achievements as we are of all our squad gymnasts. For more information please click the Read More button.
The Jack Petchey Foundation
At 91 Sir Jack still goes to his office every day. Since establishing the Jack Petchey Foundation in 1999, his businesses have given £100 million to support youth projects. What he ‘gives’ is greater than money though;
the same entrepreneurial skills that he brought to his business have led to some really innovative schemes for young people.
Sir Jack seeks to increase young people’s aspirations by rewarding their achievements and encouraging them to take pride in what they have done.
He brings communities together to really celebrate and ensure that the young people have a moment of glory and that their parents/carers/ teachers and youth workers are there to witness it.
MEET THE COACHES
As a parent, you will no doubt want to know your child is in safe hands. Please be assured as a well-established club which has been running since 1967 all our coaches are qualified through our National Governing body (British Gymnastics) and all are enhanced DBS checked. They all hold certifications in Safeguarding & Proptecting Children and are first aid trained too.
We also have a number of young trainee volunteer assistants many of whom are senior or ex-gymnasts themselves. They can be seen regularly helping out during classes and when they reach the age of 16 the club sends them on their first coaching course.
The whole gym/building has CCTV in operation and no child enters a class or leaves the building unless registered in/out, so you know your child is in good hands.
Please help us raise funds for the club by doing your on-line shopping using this link - all you do is sign up and the shops you buy from donate anything between 1 and 3% of what you buy from their profits to us.

PARENT & TODDLER FUN GYM SESSIONS
We introduce children into gymnastics as young as age one in our Parent & Toddlers “Fun Gym” session.
Pre-school Gymnastics is designed for an active programme to create physical and mental awareness. It is designed for children attending nursery and primary school.
The equipment in our Kinder Gym allows children to discover from an early age the experience and pleasure of climbing, jumping, supporting and balancing in a safe and controlled environment.
